Application of Biodiesel

Biodiesel is meant to be used in any diesel engine

Biodiesel is used in Automobiles, Mining, Farming & Industrial equipments, etc.

Biodiesel can be used alone, or blended with petro diesel in any proportions. Using biodiesel as a vehicle fuel increases energy security, improves air quality and the environment

Biodiesel also reduces engine noise and vibration, and it is also been found that using Biodiesel or its blends improves engine’s life over high speed diesel

ENVIRONMENTAL BENEFITS
OF BIODIESEL

We ran some calculations based on proven methods to illustrate this emissions reduction from the opposite perspective too. Here’s how much higher GHG emissions are for other fuel choices, compared to Biodiesel:
i. 580% higher with petroleum diesel
ii. 435% higher with compressed natural gas
iii. 195% higher with an electric vehicle with natural gas-derived electricity

Reduces lifecycle greenhouse gases by up to 86%.

Lowers particulate matter by 47%, reducing smog and making our air healthier to breathe. Reduces hydrocarbon emissions by 67%

Biodiesel is non toxic and biodegradable

Using biodiesel reduces life cycle emissions because carbon dioxide released from biodiesel combustion is offset by the carbon dioxide absorbed from growing vegetable oil or other feedstock used to produce the fuel

Benefits of Biodiesel

No Sulphur or Aromatics

Biodiesel contains virtually no sulphur or aromatics, and use of biodiesel in a conventional diesel engine results in substantial reduction of unburned hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide and particulate matter

Reduction in CO2

Various studies throughout the world showed that the production and use of biodiesel, compared to petroleum diesel, resulted in a 78.5-88% reduction in carbon dioxide emissions. Moreover, biodiesel has a positive energy balance. For every unit of energy needed to produce a litre of biodiesel, at least 4.5 units of energy are gained

Carbon Neutral

Biodiesel has many environmentally beneficial properties. The main benefit of biodiesel is that it can be described as “Carbon neutral”. This means that the fuel produces no net output of carbon, which is a major pollutant in today’s world

Environment Friendly & Economical

Not only Biodiesel is environmentally friendly but also more economically viable than petroleum diesel, also use of Biodiesel helps reduces India’s energy imports and boosts earnings in agriculture sector, hence a win-win situation for all stakeholders
